About Our Grade R
Our Grade R centre in Mokopane opened in [2026] as a dedicated space for the year that matters most in preparing a child for formal schooling. Following the CAPS curriculum, we build the reading, writing and number foundations that Grade 1 depends on.
Grade R at Safe Square sits between play and formal learning. Children work in small structured sessions and still have the room to move, create and explore, so that the step into Grade 1 feels natural rather than daunting. Our teachers know each child by name and by need.
What Your Child Will Experience
Our programme follows the CAPS Grade R curriculum while keeping the day varied and age-appropriate.
- Early literacy: letters, sounds, listening and speaking
- Early numeracy: counting, patterns, shapes and measurement
